Carla and Crappy Show: The We’re In The Money Edition

Boys and girls, it's finally here. Welcome to Week 0 of the college football season, and welcome to the official start of the 11th season here at the Carla and Crappy Show. As is tradition, the whole gang is here as Carla, Crappy, and AJ dive into the Big Ten's big media rights deal and make preseason picks for the College Football Playoff. Here's a hint: We all agree on three playoff teams. That fourth team though? Your guess is as good as ours. So we make it a literal guessing game. Play along with us at home! Then, yes, there is actual college football being played on Saturday. Here we go. Nebraska vs. Northwestern (12:30 ET, Fox): This game's being played in Dublin, Ireland, because ... why? The Huskers are bringing a bunch of transfers with them across the pond, while Northwestern ... might need some of that Irish luck. Wyoming at Illinois (4 ET, Big Ten Network): Neither of these teams played offense well last year. Bert hired UTSA's (meep, meep) OC in the offseason to help and is low-key building something in Champaign. Duquesne at Florida State (5 ET, ACC Network): The Dukes knocked off Ohio last year, and the Noles lost to Jacksonville State. So, you're saying Duquesne has a chance? Maybe. Briefly. In the first quarter. But don't overreact to this win, Noles fans. Really. Vanderbilt at Hawaii (10:30 ET, CBS Sports Network): AJ is just a wee bit excited to begin the season with a true #AfterDark game featuring his beloved Rainbow Warriors. Hawaii's in a literal rebuild this year. Vandy's not spectacular, but the Dores should be able to fly home winners. So, this is your warning. Go find your streaming passwords. Reset your favorite channels in your guide. Use Saturday as a practice round. Because Thursday? We get five straight days of college football. Cheers, yinz!
