Carla and Crappy Show: The Big Red Wivalwy Week Edition

It’s Week 13 of the college football season, and Carla and Crappy have a guest sit in for the initial discussions of Wivalwy Week — Cornell running back Drew Powell. Cornell’s season wrapped last weekend and the Big Red finished at 5-5; Drew wrapped up his season injury-free (mostly, anyway) and on a high note, with the most offensive contributions he’s made all season.

 

Drew hung out for our look back at the bonkeriest of bonkers weekends and as a guest prognosticator for the rankings that come out on Tuesday. And as Drew signed off to finish a school assignment (as it turns out, attending an Ivy League school is difficult — who knew?), AJ sets the table for the week’s insane G5 slate.

 

And then? Picks. A bunch of them. Because it is, after all, Wivalwy Week.

Bowling Green at OU, 7 p.m., ESPNU

Will OU QB Kurtis Rourke play for the Bobcats? It may not matter.

 

Thursday

Egg Bowl

Mississippi State at Ole Miss, 7 p.m., ESPN

Neither team has exactly been setting the world on fire — but one team has more cowbell.

 

Friday

NC State at UNC, 3:30, ABC

North Carolina offense wasn’t humming last week, but NC State would have to win with backups to the backups.

 

Nebraska at Iowa, 4 p.m., BTN

If Iowa is going to win by 10.5 points, doesn’t that mean they’ll have to score 10.5 points?

 

Saturday

THE GAME

Team Up North at Ohio State, BIG NUDE Saturday, Fox

Depth + motivation = B1G East title for the Buckeyes.

 

South Carolina at Clemson, Noon, ABC

SC is finishing the season in the hottest way possible. Could that translate to a win in not so Deathly Valley?

 

Iron Bowl

Auburn at Alabama, 3:30 p.m., CBS

It seems odd to say this, but the 2022 Iron Bowl doesn’t matter a whole lot. And that makes it tougher on the team that didn’t live up to expectations this season.

 

The Civil War

Oregon at Oregon State, 3:30 p.m., ABC

Is there a home field advantage in Corvalis? We’re about to find out.

 

Land Grant Trophy

Sparty at Penn State, 4 p.m., FS1

Is Penn State the best team in the conference at this moment? Unfortunately for Team Up North State, it probably is.

 

Notre Dame at USC, 7:30 p.m., ABC

Marcus Freeman has overcome a rough start and has the Irish humming. But USC has its eyes on a playoff spot.

 

The Sunflower Showdown

Kansas at Kansas State, 8 p.m., Fox

The most awesome thing about this game is that it matters this year.

 

The Apple Cup

Washington at Washington State, 10:30 p.m, ESPN

Let’s get weird on the West Coast.
