Carla and Crappy Show: The 2021 Natty Edition

We’re down to the official end of the 2021 college football season – that would be Monday’s national championship game between Alabama and Georgia – which also means we’re wrapping up the 10th season of the Carla and Crappy Show. And in spite of a few late glitches because of omicron, we were able to enjoy an entertaining bowl season –- although Crappy probably wouldn’t use the word “entertaining” to describe the first half of the Rose Bowl. It has been our practice over the years to not dwell much on the outcomes of our weekly picks – and that’s probably a good thing. But our young friend Aidan was curious to see how we all did with our Bowlapalooza picks from a couple shows ago, so Crappy went back through that episode to tally the results. Two things to be aware of: First, that show was bit chaotic, and in the middle of the craziness Crappy actually forgot to pick three or four of the games, so he’s not included in the standings. Also, we’ve tossed out the Sun Bowl, which brought in a new team after COVID forced a cancellation. You'll need to listen or watch to find out the results. BUT – if you’re ever involved with something like this and one contestant keeps saying that they don’t really know college football all that well, it’s pretty much a given that that’s the person who’s going to come out on top. But there is one more guest picker to appear on the show this season, and she’s got her sights set on the title game. We are, of course, talking about the one person who has pretty much been in charge of the #CnCShow all year – Miss Ellie makes her first live appearance and has a definite idea about who winning on Monday night. Carla and Crappy both have a pretty solid notion about Monday’s winner as well, even though neither is especially excited about it. But they’ll both be watching ESPN at 8 p.m. Monday when the game kicks off from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy. And that’s the season, boys and girls.
